HT Blog 4th May 2018

Dear families,

Remember that next week pupils will return to school on Wednesday. I hope you all have a lovely long weekend and I hope that the sun makes an appearance. Read on to find out what we have been up to this week.

P1B led our assembly this week and it was all about their ‘busy bodies’. They shared some catchy songs to help us wash our hands and clean our teeth properly as well as sharing how they keep their bodies healthy. Although I do feel I could improve my diet, I was glad to see bubble baths were a good way to look after your body!

I would like to wish our P6s (and two P5s) the best of luck in the first round of the School Board Cup this Saturday down at Wardie Playing fields. We have Bun-Sgoil Taobh na Pairce, Currie & Gylemuir schools in our group.

ICT Responsible Use Policy

If your child has not yet returned their signed ICT Responsible Use Policy please do so as soon as possible. If this form is not signed and returned, your child will be unable to access certain technologies within the school such as school computers and iPads. The Responsible Use Policy has been created to keep children safe when using digital technologies within school.

P1 Transition

Our P1 transition has started and this week they met our P5s who will be their buddies next year. They had a tour of the school followed by some activities in the classrooms. It was lovely to see how settled they were on their first visit and we look forward to welcoming them again in a couple of weeks.

KPSA Family Treasure Hunt

Please note the change of date for the KPSA family treasure hunt, it will now take place on Saturday 26th May rather that the 12th May as previously advertised. There will be a pirate theme and lots of stalls and refreshments to keep the whole family entertained.

3G Pitch maintenance

Our 3G pitch was inspected and had some essential maintenance carried out on it today to make sure we keep it in tiptop condition because it is such a valuable resource to the school.

New Playground

I have received 30 pupil applicatiosn for the playground committee so far and I will be inviting the successful pupils to interview the week after next. I am delighted that so many pupils are interested in this role and will find it difficult to whittle it down to the final 12.
