Mrs Whitford’s Kirky News

Happy New Year!

I trust you have all had a good holiday with your families. Staff here are feeling well rested and are looking forward to the new term ahead. Please be careful in the playground as although it has been salted, it freezes over again quite quickly.   P4 are continuing with swimming this week and P5 begin a block of weekly Ukulele lessons from Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative. This Friday will be a religious observance assembly so please let the school know (if you have not already done so) if you wish to remove your child from this. We also found out that Kirkliston Primary School have been shortlisted for the Active School of the Year Award having been nominated by Heather Brownlee, our Active School’s Coordinator. This is a huge honour for the school and testament to Active Schools and Miss Smith our PE specialist. The ceremony will take place in March at the Prestonfield House Hotel and we will find out then if we have won. Please can I remind you that you must make an appointment if you wish to meet with class teachers and if you need to enter the school, you should come in via the front door and report to the school office.
