Mrs Whitford’s Kirky News – 20th November 2017

Another busy fortnight at KPS. We have enrolled our new P1s for 2018/19 and it looks like another large year group but we are looking forward to welcoming them all. My highlight of the last fortnight has been meeting my Bonus Ball pupils for juice and a biscuit and a chance to talk about their learning in maths and numeracy. The children definitely know their strengths and quite a few are enjoying the challenge! We had a visit from the SSPCA and we handed over a cheque for £350 from our recent dress down day. We also had representatives from Edinburgh Council to talk to parents, carers and the community about future plans for High School for our pupils as QHS won’t be big enough by 2023. The options were discussed and a lot of important questions answered. Look out for the doodle poll asking for your preferred option. The Heras fencing has been removed from many parts of the playground and it’s looking so much better. We are now waiting on the final checks for the new play area before the last part of the fencing is removed.
