KPSA Information Evening
I would like to thank everyone who came along to the KPSA Information Evening on Wednesday. It was great to see some new faces and the Pupil Council (past and present) were brilliant. A special mention goes to Gordon Paterson and his team for all their work behind the scenes which made the night run smoothly.
Although we are sad that Gordon will be stepping down as Chair, I am pleased to let you know that he will be succeeded by Louise Collingwood. Louise will be joined by Craig Waddell as Vice-Chair and Judy Menzies as Treasurer. All other roles and members will be agreed at the first meeting on Monday 7 October. If you are interested in joining the KPSA please do come along.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to Gordon who has been a fantastic Chair over the last few years. In the time I have been Head Teacher at Kirkliston Primary School he has offered support and humour in equal measures which has been hugely beneficial to the school community.
Assemblies
Today we were joined by Nicola Toner from Kirkliston Library who share some fantastic stat about the Summer Reading Challenge and awarded a number of exciting prizes, Pop Up Moon caught everyone’s attention. Nicola announced that over 200 pupils took part in the challenge which was more than in many libraries across the city. Go KPS!
Some story books have been hidden around Kirkliston for the children to find and read. If your child finds a book, please help them read it (if they need help) and then follow the instructions in the book bag. Once read, it can be hidden again for another child to find. Don’t make the hiding too difficult for our younger pupils. We look forward to hearing all about the books and where they have been hidden. Good Luck!
House Captain Recruitment
Our House Captain recruitment is now complete following the presentations and vote this morning. Well done to everyone who put themselves forward for the role.
Football
Our school Football teams had a great start to the season where the P6 team beat Corstorphine away 11 v 5.
The P6/7 team got narrowly beaten 4 v 3 by a P7 Corstorphine team & the P7 got beaten 15 v 6.
P5 won their debut match!
