Assembly
P6A were in charge of assembly this week and they shared their learning on Space. They have been learning about Space for most of this term. They performed some music they created inspired by Apollo 11 landing on the moon on July 20th, 1969 and David Bowie’s Space Oddity. They shared a drama called The Day the Planets had a Fight which encouraged us to listen to the arguments and help the sun to decide who was right, a great way to learn some facts about the planets. Who do you think the sun chose?
Fantastic assembly P6A!
This Week in Nursery…
The children have planted daffodil bulbs as we are taking part in the Caley Bulb Springshow at Saughton Park organised by The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society.
There has been great excitement this week as our garden has been lit up with fairy lights for Christmas, it looks magical as it is dark when the children leave nursery. We would like to thank our children and families for organising this for the nursery. Our beautiful Christmas tree has arrived, the children have been making pictures and crafts to decorate their playrooms for the festive period. The children have been listening to the Christmas story. We are going to retell the Christmas story by acting it out. Instead of the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ we are acting out ‘We’re Going to Find a Baby’, watch this space as we are recording this to share with our families.
If all this Christmas excitement was not enough, we also have had a visit from a FOX. We spotted the fox in our nursery car park, walking along the side of the nursery garden!
We are having a Christmas jumper day on Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th December, this is optional.
KPSA Meeting
Thank you to everyone who came along to the KPSA meeting on Monday night, it was lovely to see some new faces. Our next meeting will be on Monday 18th January 2021.
Pupil Council Meeting
We had our first Pupil Council Meeting on Wednesday and we did it virtually using Microsoft Teams and nobody complained about the lack of juice and biscuits! It was great to test it out and we set the reps. 3 tasks:
To design a digital Christmas card to send to our cluster schools and friends of KPS
To carry out a panto survey
To carry out a Christmas film survey.
We will have our next meeting on Monday 18tth January and will be looking for some members of the KPSA to join us.
