Week 2 – Home Learning

Hello Primary 1 Families!

We hope you’ve had lots of fun at home over the past week. Thank you so much for sharing your learning with us via Twitter and the Learning Conversation form. We’ve really enjoyed hearing all about your experiences at home and it’s been a lovely way to keep in touch.

We have uploaded a second home learning grid and a couple of documents to support these activities (Easter egg template and writing lesson). This will be the last grid before the Easter holiday, with the next one being uploaded on Wednesday 22^nd April. Please click on the links to complete the relevant forms. We would encourage all the children to revise the igh/-y sounds as these have only been introduced in recent weeks. If your child is finding these sounds too tricky, please complete the initial sounds (n/m) form instead.

We have included a Sumdog spelling task on this week’s grid. Sumdog is a super online resource for practising numeracy, spelling and reading skills. We are able to keep track of individual children’s progress on Sumdog and we have been very impressed by the scores this week. Well done, Primary 1!

Please don’t worry if your child is struggling to complete the set literacy and numeracy tasks. We appreciate that the children are currently learning within a very unfamiliar context; some may prefer working at home, while others may find this more challenging. Our biggest focus is the children’s health and wellbeing during this time. For this reason, there is no pressure to complete all the tasks in the grid and we would encourage you to leave lots of time for free-play and family activities 😊
